This has resulted not only in a brochure but also in the formation of an internal working group that is constantly developing further measures. The brochure sets out our current status with full transparency. As a medium-sized family business, we combine commercial success with responsibility. Our environmental management system is certified to ISO 14001; accordingly, our measures are clearly defined, documented and based on recognised standards. With ‘Made in Germany’, we are committed to our location in Fürth. We have been developing and manufacturing our products exclusively in Germany for over 85 years. --- ![](https://www.gmoehling.com/fileadmin/_processed_/9/d/csm_3_Scan10071_Geschichte_e9604f084c.jpg) HISTORY ------- Mr Gmöhling was the chief architect of our company's success; it is his expertise, commitment and determination that have largely made the company what it is today. Until his old age, nothing could dissuade him from coming regularly into the company. He discussed new developments and ideas with the design department, found out about current projects and orders from Sales and was always happy to hear what any employee had to say. Tradition and innovation, business success and social responsibility – in its more than 85 years of existence, the company has been able to combine these characteristics to produce optimum results. And will continue to do so in the future. --- ![](https://www.gmoehling.com/fileadmin/_processed_/b/5/csm_3-_Gebaeude_Geschichte_5167dfd3d8.jpg) ![](https://www.gmoehling.com/fileadmin/_processed_/e/9/csm_3_Scan10017_Geschichte_3ae5928a2b.jpg) ![](https://www.gmoehling.com/fileadmin/_processed_/8/c/csm_3_Scan10018_Geschichte_0dce503bf6.jpg) ![](https://www.gmoehling.com/fileadmin/_processed_/9/0/csm_3_Scan10021_Geschichte_08dfe03438.jpg) ![](https://www.gmoehling.com/fileadmin/_processed_/0/7/csm_3_Scan10022_Geschichte_ea104d63cb.jpg) ![](https://www.gmoehling.com/fileadmin/_processed_/c/f/csm_3_Scan10070_Geschichte_715486412f.jpg) ![](https://www.gmoehling.com/fileadmin/_processed_/0/d/csm_Geschichte_Gebaeude_2_52baebc441.jpg) ### 1941 - The Founding Wilhelm Gmöhling founded the company in Alsace as an aluminium foundry, initially producing components for cars and aircraft. ### 1944 - Destruction During the War Production was lost due to the war. ### 1948 – A New Beginning Walter Gmöhling, refounded the business as an aluminium processing company.
